Through foraged materials, Rae Terez currently practices an assemblage approach to hand-sew imagined plant lineages as tutelary and traversing healing emblems within a greater mythological landscape. In repurposing personal, found, and donated textiles and materials, she regenerates the dynamic memory of plants, their travelling seeds, and universal influences. Terez continually references black American plant literacy and diasporic connections while honoring the slow, laborious practices of black Southern cultural production.
